These boxes are perfect for 45 Colt, (aka .45 Long Colt) The Smartreloader boxes which say they are good for 45 Colt are too big and the rounds wobble a lot. If you go to the trouble to make 100’s of rounds you want them stored well.

If you’re going to buy these Ammo, buy more than just 5 boxes or more. The first purchase I made i bought 10 boxes of them and they came in a cardboard boxes. 9 were perfect but one had broken tabs. So I notified Black Rambo and they replaced it no problem. Received the replacement one today and it came in a soft bubble mailer with the whole corner cracked and broken which Black Rambo would not let me replace. Otherwise they work just fine for my 9mm ammo. Thanks pal anyway

I purchased this along with the MTM 100 Round Flip-Top Ammo Box 380/9MM Cal (Clear Green/Black) , so this review includes comparisons to that product. They are both good, secure boxes and you can’t really go wrong with either. Overall, I prefer the MTM case, simply because it is smaller and it is made in the USA. The Plano case does have features the MTM case doesn’t (primarily that it can be locked), so hopefully this review will help you pick out the case best for you.

Despite this, however, I am buying another one to replace the broken one because until it broke I loved the thing. I buy ammo in bulk so I just have ammo cans full of loose rounds, and it’s nice to be able to load this thing up and have my range ammo nice and organized when I get there. I have the same case for my .223 rounds and have had zero problems, except for the fact that you have to load the bullets with the tips up, which makes them kind of hard to grab when the case is full.
I would recommend these Black Rambo ammo cases for any serious shooter…just don’t let them hit the ground.

This is a common issue with all ammo cases. They also might add a card sleeve to the top for detailed info or to insert commercial box panels with load information.
All in all, if you reload or want a more substantial package for secure ammo storage these cases fit the bill. The biggest drawback is they make my butt look big.
